Dr. Geunhwa Jung is a Professor of Turfgrass Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Stockbridge School of Agriculture, specializing in turfgrass pathology. His research focuses on developing effective, economically and environmentally sustainable strategies for managing turfgrass diseases, as well as improving disease resistance in turfgrass species such as creeping bentgrass and ryegrass. Using classical breeding and molecular techniques, Dr. Jung investigates the genetic mechanisms underlying disease resistance and has developed a genetic linkage map for creeping bentgrass to help identify genes associated with dollar spot resistance. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and combines applied research with extension education to provide science-based solutions for the turfgrass industry.

Dr. Wendell Hutchens

Dr. Wendell Hutchens specializes in turfgrass pathology, with research focused on managing turfgrass diseases and maintaining healthy turf across golf courses, athletic fields, sod farms, parks, and residential lawns. His work combines traditional cultural and chemical management practices with emerging technologies, including drones and GPS-guided sprayers, to improve disease control and turfgrass health. He also researches strategies to mitigate abiotic stress in cool- and warm-season grasses, including reducing winter injury, optimizing plant growth regulator and fungicide applications, and exploring drought-tolerant native grasses as sustainable lawn alternatives. Dr. Hutchens holds a B.S. in Turfgrass Science and an M.S. in Plant Pathology from North Carolina State University, as well as a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from Virginia Tech.

Bill Green is the Golf Course & Grounds Superintendent at Cutten Fields Golf Club in Guelph, Ontario, where he has led the ongoing development and improvement of the course since 2015. With extensive experience in golf course construction, renovation, and management, Bill has worked at several notable facilities, including Toronto Golf Club, Georgian Bay Club, and Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey. He played a key leadership role in Cutten Fields' extensive course renovation, working alongside golf course architect Jeff Mingay to modernize the historic Stanley Thompson-designed course while preserving its original character. Bill is a graduate of the University of Guelph's Horticulture Diploma program in Turfgrass Management and Penn State University's Golf Course Turfgrass Management Program.
