Renfrew Golf Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and agronomic operations of our course. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for delivering exceptional playing conditions while ensuring compliance with all provincial regulations and environmental best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, mentor and develop a dedicated team of turf professionals.
- Oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance, including turf management, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control
- Monitor and optimize the clubs manual irrigation system.
- Develop and implement agronomic plans to maintain high-quality playing conditions throughout the season
- Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance staff
- Manage budgets, inventory, and procurement of equipment and supplies
- Ensure compliance with all Ontario regulations related to pesticide use, environmental protection, and workplace safety
- Maintain accurate records of chemical applications, water usage, and maintenance activities
- Work closely with the clubs mechanic to schedule the routine and ongoing maintenance on all equipment.
- Actively participate in the development of the Clubs course improvement plans.
- Work closely with the Greens Committee and other committees as required.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Board to support club operations and long-term planning
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Diploma or degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or a related field is an asset
- Have a Valid Ontario Pesticide License (Landscape Exterminator License) or willing to obtain.
- IPM (Integrated Pest Management) Accreditation / IPM Agent Certification in accordance with Ontario MECP requirements or willing to obtain.
- Knowledge of and compliance with all applicable provincial regulations, including Ontario’s Cosmetic Pesticides Ban Act
- Valid Ontario driver’s license
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary: $70,000 – $80,000, commensurate with experience

- One meal per day while on duty
