SPRAY TECHNICIAN

Located just 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa, The Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club is one of Canada’s premier private golf facilities. Established in 1922 and designed by Willie Park Jr., the Club features 27 championship holes set across 225 acres of meticulously maintained property.

In recent years, the Club has undergone significant improvements under the guidance of renowned golf course architect Dr. Michael Hurdzan and have recently completed a Master Plan that will guide enhancements in years to come.  

The Ottawa Hunt is proud to be:

  • Operating out of a new state-of-the-art maintenance facility  

Looking ahead, the Club has recently approved a full bunker reconstruction project utilizing Better Billy Bunker technology across 27 holes, as well as the redevelopment of the front entrance and parking lot, further demonstrating a strong commitment to continued investment in the property.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Spray Technician to join our Agronomy Team. This is a key position focused on plant health, precision applications, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).The successful candidate will work closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents in a high-performance, team-oriented environment, with opportunities for growth and advancement.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Calibrate and operate sprayers and spreaders with a high level of accuracy
  • Lead and support the Club’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program, including:
    • Routine scouting for insects, disease, and turf stress
    • Accurate record keeping and regulatory compliance
  • Apply fertilizers and plant protection products using:
    • Boom sprayers
    • Spray hawks
    • Rotary and drop spreaders
  • Assist with product inventory, tracking, and ordering
  • Support irrigation practices including:
    • Central control operation
    • Troubleshooting and repairs
    • Head adjustments and water management
  • Assist with hand watering and other turf management practices as required

 

Qualifications

  • Ontario Exterminator License (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe application practices
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous golf course or turfgrass experience is considered an asset

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 annually (based on experience)

Work Schedule

  • 40–50 hours per week during peak season
  • Flexibility required for weekends and holidays
