Job Description/Overview
Seeking an individual with either prior experience or the desire to become an irrigation/spray technician on our golf maintenance team. The technician works alongside the maintenance staff and reports to the golf course superintendent and assistant superintendent.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in spray applications of pesticides and fertilizers.
- Assist in the upkeep of healthy turf using IPM strategies.
- Assist in daily irrigation and moisture management, including monitoring, repairs and installation.
- Involved in the daily course set-up for daily play.
- Ability to be involved in projects/renovation work and lead a small crew.
- Ability to supervise weekend staff/shifts, if required.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- First Aid/CPR training an asset, or be willing to be trained.
- Available to work with early morning start times.
- Posses a valid pesticide license, or ability to obtain one.
- Irrigation system management and repair/installation experience or willingness to learn.
- Experience with landscaping/golf course maintenance.
- Ability to obtain valid chainsaw license/training.- Schedule flexibility.
COMPENSATION / SCHEDULE
- Seasonal/Full Time Position (April-November)
- Monday- Friday, every second weekend. 35-40 hours per week, ~4 hours per day on weekends
