POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Irrigation Division Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the supervision and execution of assigned projects. He/she coordinates, distributes, and supervises resources related to site operations, while ensuring quality control and compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
Please note that this position is seasonal but can be combined with the role of Snow Removal Foreman during the winter season to fill a permanent position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs and controls the execution of assigned projects, respecting deadlines, work methods and quality of conformity;
  • Schedules and distributes daily tasks and work equipment to site employees;
  • Plans work and operational requirements, ensuring that resources are available in sufficient quantity and at the right time, in terms of labour, equipment and materials; 2 days in advance;
  • Identifies and resolves work execution problems;
  • Regularly informs the Irrigation Division Manager of work progress, changes, deadlines, or problems encountered that could cause delays or impact project productivity and profitability;
  • Completes various administrative documents and reports relating to the activities for which he is responsible (daily report, site meeting summary);
  • Coordinates with the Irrigation Division Manager and the Chief Mechanic the repair priorities for equipment and machinery on his site, and ensures its daily maintenance;
  • Communicates staffing requirements to the Irrigation Division Manager;
  • Approves site employees' hours on a daily basis and communicates them to the payroll department;
  • Completes annual performance evaluation of site employees in collaboration with the Irrigation Division Manager, ensuring that the process is completed on time;
  • Trains or ensures the training and updates knowledge of site employees when necessary;
  • Organizes and leads weekly site meetings to ensure the understanding and proper application of health and safety regulations, cleanliness of premises and equipment, respect of work-safety policies, rules and instructions amongst the team;
  • Communicates and leads by example the application of health and safety regulations and policies, as well as other internal policies;
  • Coordinates the physical organization of the worksite while ensuring its cleanliness and safety of employees and visitors at all times;
  • Executes and ensures the application of directions given by the Irrigation Division Manager regarding standards and modifications requested by the customer on any given project;
  • Ensures that the company’s image is maintained through works clothes and making sure they are worn appropriately on site;
  • Collaborates with the Logistics and Human Resources department to distribute work clothing and equipment to site employees;
  • Orders the required materials and delivers them on time to the destinations determined by the Project Manager and the Irrigation Division Manager;
  • Promotes a healthy, safe and collaborative work environment;
  • Identifies equipment requirements at the start of the project and communicates them to the Irrigation Division Manager;
  • Identifies surveying needs and communicates them to the Irrigation Division Manager;
  • Manages subcontractors working on site;
  • Maintains constant communication between the various involved parties regarding progress, problems encountered, and issues associated with the project.


EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Secondary 5 or equivalent;
  • Training related to landscaping or golf course management is an asset;
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a similar position;
  • Experience in golf irrigation is an asset;
  • Good knowledge of English and/or Spanish is an asset;
  • Applied knowledge and experience of computer software: equipment repairs, maintenance and follow-up, Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Must have a class 5 driver's license.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Permanent full-time position;
  • Salary starting at 37.13/hour;
  • Work schedule: daytime, 40 hours per week;
  • Monday to Friday, occasional Saturday;
  • Group insurance and RRSP after 3 months' service;
